CAT Financial Rewards

About This Project

CAT Financial a branch from Caterpillar tasked the Ovation Platform team to enhance the awards and incentives platform so that it would be mobile compatible. The account coordinators, product manager, creative team and developers gathered to discuss the product road map and the enhancement was not dues for another 9 months. The meeting yielded 3 solutions:

A) Keep current platform and build an adaptive jQuery mobile site

B) Create a jQuery mobile only approach and have the current platform as a desktop backup

C) Develop a Bootstrap Framework product that we build once and deploy everywhere

After deliberation we opted for the Bootstrap Framework with AngularJS to have a single page application. I worked with the product manager to scope out the wireframes based on existing user feedback and developed new user flows that enhance the mobile experience. I was able to build Boostrap sketches for the overall application and iterate and each week we had a new solution or enhancement that we discovered. The process was great for the developers as we opted to not use iRise as it was faster to design in bootstrap and iterate and hand off to developers. CAT Financial said we went above and beyond what they expected and they appreciated the inclusion in the development and testing.
